DECO, the Portuguese consumer organisation, published four new reports on energy poverty summarising the state of play across the 9 project countries (Poland, UK, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Portugal).

  • Targeting energy poor consumers. This report presents the definitions of energy poverty available in the project countries, the causes and the different measures that can be used to tackle it at national level.
  • Defining energy poverty. The results of a survey done on 151 organisations underline the obstacles these organisations face when providing advice to consumers in or at risk of energy poverty.
  • Summary of available support schemes. This report lists all the support schemes which are available in the project countries and that are dedicated to consumers who are struggling to pay their bills. 
  • Best practices in STEP project countries. Be it via awareness raising, finding new ways to reach out to the vulnerable consumers or getting the right method for tackling energy poverty, this report offers the best practices available so far.

Other STEP reports are available on our Results page. Any good practices or questions to share, get in touch!
